To disconnect a weight cable from the battery.
To unscrew the holder of the battery.
To remove the air filter, see. Head Power supply system, carburetor, system of injection of fuel, Section Removal and installation of the air filter.
To uncover heads of cylinders with laying.
To establish the crankshaft in position VMT of the piston of the 1st cylinder, see. Section Removal and installation of a gear belt of VZ engines, В5, B6 (SOHC), (SOHC) VR.

After that it is impossible to change position of the crankshaft. |

To weaken bolts of fastening of shaft of yokes in that order and to unscrew them.

To mark the adjusting provision of shaft of yokes by chalk or a felt-tip pen, to take out shaft complete with yokes and springs and to put aside, that they did not break up. | | Some engines are equipped with hydraulic pushers. On these engines at removal any hydraulic pusher should not drop out of yokes. |
