Air removal from a coupling drive

Hydraulic drive

Air should be removed from a coupling drive, if the pedal of coupling does not come back to a starting position or comes back very slowly if transfers join hardly, and also after opening of hydraulic system.

As the hydraulic system of a drive of coupling works with brake liquid, it is necessary to familiarize also with the corresponding instructions in the Section Pumping of brake system.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. To lift a forward part of the car.
  2. To check level of brake liquid in a compensatory tank, if necessary to add to the maximum mark.
  3. To remove a boot from the pumping gate on the working cylinder.
  4. Carefully to open the pumping gate. For rotation of the gate it is best of all to use a six-sided cap key.
  5. To put on the gate of pumping of the working cylinder a transparent hose.
  1. To lower the free end of a hose in the bottle half filled with brake liquid, the end of a hose should be shipped in brake liquid.
  1. Several times slowly to squeeze out a pedal couplings (assistant).
  2. Holding a pedal pressed, to weaken the pumping gate, brake liquid yet will not start to follow. Then again to close the gate.
  3. To release a pedal, to press again and to hold in this situation. To open the gate of pumping and to close again. This process to repeat until in following brake liquid air vials will not disappear. Thus constantly to add in a compensatory tank fresh brake liquid.
  4. To remove a hose, to put on the pumping gate a boot.
  5. To add brake liquid in a compensatory tank to a mark a maximum.
  6. To make a trial trip and to check coupling work. Transfers should join easily, without a gnash, otherwise repeat pumping or find malfunction according to the table.
