Even faultlessly processed saddles of valves and new valves should be ground in to each other for optimum consolidation. It especially should be considered in diesel engines.

Valves can get used only fine-grained grinding paste. For rotation on a plate of the valve the sucker is established. Formation of grooves at grinding in is possible to avoid, often taking out and turning the valve is farther. |
| After grinding in it is necessary to remove grinding paste completely. |
Process of grinding in is supervised by means of drawing on a contact surface of "Preussischblau" or "Bleiweiss", and also by means of fuel. To insert valves, to fill the chamber of combustion with fuel, fuel should not follow to directing the valve. Otherwise process of grinding in should be repeated.
