Dismantling generator/replacement of coal brushes

Coal brushes of the generator wear out quite slowly; on the average through each 120.000 km. It is recommended to replace brushes a little earlier, for this purpose the generator is necessary for removing.

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. To remove the generator.
  1. To heat up the case on 50 ° — 60°С, for this purpose to take over the bearing case a soldering iron in capacity of 200 W within 3 — 4 minutes.

If the case of the bearing not to heat up, the bearing cannot be taken out, as the back bearing and back fastening are very strong connected with each other.

  1. To unscrew and take out 3 through bolts. To insert a screw-driver with a flat edge between a stator and forward fastening and to divide both details.

Not to insert a screw-driver too deeply, differently the stator can be scratched. At office of details to watch, that in the field of the back bearing the compressed spring did not jump out.

  1. Carefully to clamp a rotor in a vice and to unscrew the central bolt of a belt pulley. To remove a remenny pulley with the krylchatky and remote plug.
  2. To unscrew from a back cover of the generator the rectifier.
  3. To separate back fastening and a stator from each other.
  1. Отпаять a cable of a winding of a stator from the holder of the rectifier, thus to hold the plug flat-nose pliers to take away heat from the rectifier. Not to hold a soldering iron more long 5 seconds.
  1. To replace coal brushes if the limit of wear (length of 8 mm and is reached less). For this purpose выпаять contacts.
  1. To check wear of contact rings on a rotor, if necessary to replace.
  2. To check ease of a course of both bearings of a rotor. if necessary to replace. The back bearing is pressed, the press is necessary for replacement.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. To insert brushes and springs in holders and to solder contacts. Acting sites to cut off. Thus to solder wires so that the line of limit of wear of brushes was opposite to the end of a shchetkoderzhatel on 2 — 3 mm ahead.
  1. That at a vpaivaniye of new brushes solder hillocks did not tower, to compress contacts of brushes by flat-nose pliers.

Because of acting hillocks contacts become rigid and brushes become unsuitable to the use.

  1. After installation to check ease of a course of new brushes in holders.
  2. To solder a stator cable to a rectifier payment, the rectifier thus not to overheat.
  3. To establish on a rotor the back case and to connect.
  4. To establish a forward bearing board with the remote plug and the plug with a fillet.
  1. To establish a krylchatka with a belt pulley and a spring washer and to tighten a nut with effort of 60 Nanometers.
  1. To enclose a persistent spring in an ekstsentrikovy groove of the back bearing. The acting part of a spring should enter into the deepest part of a groove thus. The groove edge in the deepest place has a facet.

It is obligatory to watch the correct provision of a persistent spring as because of it decreases vystupany springs concerning a groove that facilitates assembly. Besides, the spring is not so strongly loaded and thanks to it persistent influence increases.


  1. Before installation to unbend wires of connection of the rectifier that they did not concern a rotor. To insert a brush finger in shchetkoderzhatel, to insert into an opening of the back bearing a wire (diameter of 2 mm, length of 40 — 50 mm), holding, thus, brushes in the pressed situation.
  1. To assemble the generator case, having heated up previously fastening by a soldering iron, see the paragraph Removal.
  2. To screw together the case 3 through bolts.

To take out a wire holding brushes, from an opening behind the generator.

  1. To be convinced that the generator is freely turned by a hand.
  2. To establish the generator.
  3. To connect a weight cable to the battery.
  4. If are available, to establish time on hours and to set a protective code of a radio receiver.
